BRIEF HISTORY OF WORLD SCULPTURE

This class will explore masterpieces of sculpture from the ancient world all the way up to the present day. In addition to examining the original historical context of the works, we also will discuss contemporary controversies including repatriation of pieces removed from their countries of origin and the removal of works deemed offensive or aesthetically unappealing.
