YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID USA TRAINING

ClassGraphic Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach the community and professionals how to respond when a youth is experiencing a mental health problem or a mental health crisis. The class is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with youth ages 12-18. Gain knowledge of the potential risk factors and warning signs for a range of mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance abuse disorders, self-injury, disruptive disorders (including ADHD) and eating disorders. Learn a five-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources and knowledge to assess the situation, to select and implement appropriate interventions, and to help the individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional care.
Please note - This course does not teach how to diagnose or counsel, but how to help a person needing early intervention or crisis assistance. Manual and lunch included.  
Prior to the training, you will receive an email with instructions to complete pre-work online. If this pre-work is not completed, you will not be able to attend the training.
