  • Camps are designed for students who will be entering 3rd-5th grade.
  • Students will attend the same 3 consecutive classes during each camp.
  • Classes will be held in-person at the BHC Outreach Center, 301 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline, IL unless otherwise noted.
  • Upon registration, you will receive more information about the camp and 1st day info.
Lego Spike Prime
Lego’s newest robotics platform, the SPIKE Prime combines Lego bricks, a programmable multi-port Hub and coding language. Follow directions to build different robotic creations. Using coding, you will program the models to move, make sounds and explore beginning engineering concepts. Engage your mind and problem-solving skills with these interactive Lego components. 

Coding for Kids with Scratch Coding
Computer science and computer programming help nurture your problem-solving skills, logic and creativity. This fun, interactive class will teach you the concepts of computer logic, coding and programming. By being exposed to and familiarizing you to coding, you will have a foundation for success in any future career path.
Your parents will need to set up a free account for you at https://scratch.mit.edu/join. Bring the username and password with you on the first day of class.

Simple Machines and Motorized Mechanisms
Put your mind to the test as we use Legos to create and learn! In this class you will explore the simple machines that make up compound machines. Using LEGO build sets, bring your creations to life and learn how they function so you can engineer and problem solve to create the best functional machine.

For All Youth Camps and Classes
For marketing purposes, Black Hawk College will be taking pictures of the students in the summer youth camp/classes. If you would prefer that your child’s picture not be used in any publicity for the PaCE Department or for Black Hawk College, please notify us at shudak@bhc.edu.
