GERMAN ROOTS IN THE US

ID : 1592    Section Number : C42
« back to classes page
Beginning in the mid-1800s, scores of German immigrants crossed the Atlantic and then traveled up the Mississippi to settle on the West side of the river. This brought many Germans to the Quad Cities. Once they began to settle in the area, they made their indelible mark on architecture, business and society as a whole. Tracing German Roots in the Quad Cities follows their journey to the area, the impact they made once there and the ways in which those German roots forever transformed the place we call home.
