In any cemetery, there are stories, stories that tell about a community, its development and its people. Riverside Cemetery is no exception. As Moline’s earliest cemetery, those who repose there are not only the leading figures in Moline’s founding and development, but also the many men and women who lived and worked there from the city’s inception until today. Beyond the most familiar stories like those of the Deere and Velie families, this program brings to life some of the stories that have been lost or nearly forgotten.
