  • Camps are designed for students who will be entering 3rd-5th grade.
  • Students will attend the same 3 consecutive classes during each camp.
  • This camp will be held in Building 4 on the Black Hawk College Moline Campus, 6600 34th Avenue, Moline, IL

History of American Roots Music - Explore the genres of American roots music along the riverbanks of the Mississippi, from soulful blues and jazz to the lively beats of rock ‘n’ roll and country. Through hand-on activities, you will learn about the milestones of American music, but also discover the cultural influences that shaped each musical era from the Delta to New Orleans.

Music Makers - Whether you actively play an instrument or want to give it a try, there is something for everyone in this immersive class! You will learn basic applications of rhythm with percussion instruments and learn about incorporating it with melody and harmony. You will develop a better understanding of making music both as an individual and with a group. You will also learn some fun exercises and songs along the way!

Audio Explorers - Have you ever wondered what goes into recording and producing an album? Learn all about the recording process and the different creative tools at your fingertips. Gain hands-on experience working with different audio equipment while using it to edit your recordings just like they do in the studio!
