Join us for a joyful literary journey through the world of Charles Dickens, the author many credit as “the man who invented Christmas.” Between 1843 and 1849, Dickens penned five beloved Christmas stories, and in this course, we’ll read and explore two of these timeless tales with care and delight. Guided by Coach Jim Valvano’s inspiring motto— “laugh, think, cry”—students will identify moments from each story that evoke laughter, reflection and deep emotion. Together, we’ll celebrate Dickens’ masterful storytelling, discovering not only how he shaped the spirit of Christmas but also how his words continue to read and enrich us today.
Students will need a copy of the book: A Dickens Christmas Collection by Charles Dickens, ISBN: 9798695114256.
